Rome, 21st July 2021 – In the ESA ESRIN headquarter of Frascati, the CEO of Avio Giulio Ranzo and the ESA Director of Space Transportation Daniel Neuenschwander have signed a Euro 118.8 million contract which ensures the advancement of the Vega launcher programme beyond 2025.

AVIO SPACE SYSTEMS
Avio is the prime contractor for the production of the small lift launch vehicle Vega, a European Space Agency (ESA) program, and the subcontractor for the manufacturing of the solid rocket motors P80, Zefiro 23 and Zefiro 9 and for Avum upper stage. 65% of the rocket is developed and manufactured in Italy.
Avio is also prime contractor for two new generation launchers: Vega Consolidation (Vega C) and Vega Evolution (Vega E), whose maiden flights will be respectively in 2020 and 2024.
